Growth. I love to learn and grow and I find so much satisfaction in seeing my own growth year over year. I can’t wait to move into the Principal role and expand my skills in the areas of client relationship management, business development and people management.
1) Patience – all good things in all good time
2) The power of translational skills – career switches are not only possible but achievable if you believe in yourself and the unique set of skills that you bring to the table
I hope to advance equity by closing wage gaps at the organizations that I work with as well as within the larger nonprofit sector. In addition I encourage my clients to advance equity by taking leading edge stances on living wages, wage floors and pay ratios. In fact a number of my clients have committed to setting wage floors based on a living wage for staff in their organization. This ensures that we elevate the lowest paid among us and help to pull them out of poverty. One way I often explain this to clients is that you might have a problem if your staff are also using your services. Staff should be paid a fair wage that raises them up so they no longer need your services.
Definitely the people. I love meeting new people and hearing about their backgrounds and lived experiences. I love accepting them for who they are and being accepted for who I am.
I also love their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. They are in it to act and do what is best for the community.
