Dear friend,

As we enter fall, still on the heels of Labor Day, I find myself reflecting on the true meaning of this annual milestone. Labor Day isn’t just a time to acknowledge the dedication of our sector’s workforce—it’s a moment to confront the environments, systems, and challenges that shape our working lives. This year, those reflections feel especially urgent. Within just weeks, we’ve seen nonprofits losing key staff, school districts making drastic cuts while scrambling to fill essential roles, and organizations wrestling with the headaches of merging fundamentally different compensation systems. If this sounds familiar, know that you are not alone.

These changes demand a new approach to managing people and mission. The need to adapt is unavoidable. Organizations that invest in modern workforce strategies—like flexible work and updated compensation—aren’t just weathering disruption; they’re positioning themselves to thrive.

Inside this month’s newsletter, discover resources to help your organization lead intentional change and stay mission-driven through uncertainty.

With appreciation,
